Press TV has conducted an interview with Chris Dorsey, a US civil rights activist from Richmond, about the rejection of two gun control measures at the US Senate.
The following is a rough transcription of the interview.
Press TV: Why do you think that the Senate wasn’t able to pass this bill that calls for more checks at least before somebody buys a gun?
Dorsey: Well, first of all when talking about any issue of gun control in the wake of so-called mass shootings we must first establish that the two mass shootings that you mentioned in the opening to this segment – the San Bernardino shooting and the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando – were orchestrated and staged by the government in order to forward the agenda of disarming the American people of their God-given rights not only to keep but to bear arms.
And this is in regard to the larger picture of the United States’ government being a rogue government. The fact that the rule of law does no longer apply in the United States of America and that the United States government kills through the police and other measures the American people by the thousands and they point nuclear weapons and mass bomb many countries throughout the world and this is all illegal but the people can never be disarmed because the purpose of the Second Amendment and any other militia clause like Article 1 section 13 in the law of Virginia is not for the people to be able to hunt or not just exclusively for the God-given right of self protection but it’s mostly to protect themselves against a tyrannical government and the people...
Press TV: As far as police militarization goes in the US and US invasion of other countries etc those are valid points indeed and when it comes to gun control nobody’s calling for guns being taken away from civilians; so just saying for better background checks, so that responsible adults are the ones who are able to buy these guns.
Dorsey: Well, the right under the law of the people to keep and bear arms is the only thing that’s deemed necessary in the law. I have it and carry with me all the time. This is the law. This is not my law. I don’t have to abide by these rules. These are the rules for the servants of the people and some of our infinite God-given rights are numerated in that document. And again that’s not for the purpose of allowing the government to decide who can and who cannot have a weapon because God creates man and man creates government and government can never make subject a man or any of the people or woman. And so therefore, as I said before, this is not for the American people to protect themselves. This is for the purpose of the people being able to get rid of a tyrannical government and that’s why we have right now and under the law...
