Giant panda gets ultrasound for heart condition

A giant panda named Gao Gao gets a checkup at the San Diego Zoo.

Some might think that it’s just us humans who are at risk of heart diseases but animals too are prone to the condition.

Gao Gao, is a male giant panda at the US San Diego Zoo that is being treated for an incurable heart disease. The panda recently underwent a cardiac ultrasound procedure to monitor his heart.

Gao Gao's keepers have trained the 26-year-old bear to voluntarily participate in his medical checkups through positive support. He was also fed some of his favorite treats following his medical checkup.
