Obama’s policies helped in creattion of Daesh: Analyst

“The rise of the Daesh was made possible by efforts by the Americans to destabilize various governments in the Middle East,” said Keith Preston.

The administration of US President Barack Obama, along with neoconservatives in Washington, have pursued policies that helped in the rise and expansion of the Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group, a political analyst in Virginia says.

“The rise of the Daesh was made possible by efforts by the Americans to destabilize various governments in the Middle East,” said Keith Preston, the chief editor of AttacktheSystem.com.

The Obama administration, ironically, has pursued policies that have continued to make this possible,” Preston told Press TV on Friday.

US Republican Senator John McCain has said that Obama is "directly responsible" for the Orlando nightclub massacre, because the rise of the Daesh (ISIL) group happened during his presidency.

McCain, who lost to Obama in the 2008 presidential election, made the remarks on Thursday in Washington, DC, while the US president was in Orlando, Florida, meeting with the families of dozens of people who lost their lives in Sunday's mass shooting.

Preston, however, said McCain and his neoconservative allies share the blame for the creation of Daesh.

“The idea that John McCain would be accusing anyone else of having pursued policies that have given rise to terrorism anywhere is absolutely nonsensical,” Preston said.

“It’s because of the policies of the neoconservatives…and politicians like John McCain that Daesh has emerged in recent times.”

The Daesh Takfiri group, which was initially created and funded by the US and its regional allies to destabilize the Middle East region, particularly Syria, has reportedly claimed responsibility for the Orlando shooting. The group now controls large parts of Iraq and Syria.

Omar Mateen, armed with assault weapons, stormed the Pulse Club on Sunday, killing 49 people and injuring 53 others at the club, marking the worst mass shooting in US history.

The 29-year-old suspect was an American-born US citizen born to parents of Afghan background. He was allegedly a Daesh sympathizer.
