The recent warnings by American officials about the surge in threats posed by the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group amount to nothing but “fear-mongering” as Daesh is a Western creation, says an American political analyst in Chicago.
Stephen Lendman, an author and radio host, made the remarks after US Department of Homeland Security urged citizens in America to exercise more vigilance following the deadly attack in Orlando, Florida.
Last Sunday, an alleged Daesh sympathizer identified as Omar Mateen, killed 49 people in Orlando’s Pulse Club being gunned down by specialized SWAT units.
CIA Director John Brennan was also set to appear before Congress on Thursday, warning the lawmakers about attempts by Daesh to send militants to Western countries.
Lendman said Western officials were engaged in a widespread fear-mongering campaign by using Daesh as an excuse to expand their imperial grip on the world.
They are “hyping fear, scaring the public into believing something, a threat that simply doesn’t exist,” he told Press TV on Thursday.
“It is all a bunch of hooey to put it in plain, simple English,” Lendman said, explaining that Western government themselves are the only threat their people are faced with.
“Daesh is a US creation supported by European countries,” and as well as NATO members, who fund and arm these terror group and use it as “imperial foot soldiers,” Lendman further explained.
“They [Daesh] could not exist without US support, without NATO support, without Turkish support, without Saudi Arabian support, without Israeli support,” the analyst said. “This is the way that they flourish.”
Syria has been gripped by foreign-sponsored militancy since March 2011. Damascus says Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar are the main supporters of the militants fighting the government forces.
Daesh terrorists, who were initially trained by the CIA in Jordan in 2012 to destabilize the Syrian government, are engaged in crimes against humanity in the areas under their control.
