Iranian women’s inline hockey team concedes 4th defeat in FIRS 2016 Championships

The national Iranian women’s inline hockey team has experienced its fourth defeat in a row at the Fédération Internationale Roller Sports (FIRS) 2016 World Inline Hockey Junior, Senior, Ladies and Men Championships in Italy.

On Wednesday and day five of the sporting event in Asiago, the female Iranian athletes went down to the Swedish side 3-1 in a 5th place game.

The loss came a day after Iran lost to Latvia 6-4 in its third match.

Meanwhile, the national Iranian men’s inline hockey will play against India in its opener on June 20.

The Iranian sportsmen will face counterparts from Macao in their second match the next day, and will be in action against the Dutch squad on June 22.

The FIRS 2016 World Inline Hockey Junior, Senior, Ladies and Men Championships started in Asiago and Roana on June 11, and will wrap up on June 24.

The Referees Committee of the FIRS has appointed Atighehchi and Khorramabadi, who is the head coach of the national Iranian women’s inline hockey team, and Ramin Atighehchi to officiate at the tournament.
