Press TV has conducted an interview with Steven Kelley, a former CIA/NSA contractor from Los Angeles, about NATO’s decision to send four battalions to Poland and Baltic states and the Russia’s response to the move.

The following is a rough transcription of the interview.

Press TV: It’s interesting when NATO says that it does not seek confrontation with Russia; however, it also said at the same time that its troop deployments to Poland and three Baltic States is to ward off Russia, contradictions so to speak.

Kelley: I think the word is hypocrisy, clearly contradiction yeah clearly hypocrisy. Russia’s being chastised for having military maneuver within their country and in NATO’s deploying right up against the border which is the most provocative thing Russia has seen since World War II.

So, we’re looking at a repeat of history, it seems.

Press TV: Well, it seems Russia doesn’t want to back off. It is saying that Russia has the military might to counter this move and respond to NATO’s move. Where is this headed? Is this going to take a direction of military confrontation?

Kelley: Well, clearly the powers ... in the Western world are definitely looking to start a confrontation. It’s not a matter of if they will, it’s more of a matter of when.

I expect that this is probably going to be happening in the summer time. And of course, this is not just an international event. This is also intended to provide the proper distraction for martial law domestically so that they can implement some draconian measures here in the USA also.
