Iran women’s inline hockey team suffers defeat from Finland

National Iranian women’s inline hockey team

The national Iranian women’s inline hockey team has conceded its second defeat at the Fédération Internationale Roller Sports (FIRS) 2016 World Inline Hockey Junior, Senior, Ladies and Men Championships in Italy.

On Monday, the Iranian squad, which had slumped 0-5 to the hosts in its opening match of the sports event the previous day, lost to the Finnish side 0-17 in Asiago.

The Iranian women’s inline hockey players will take on Latvian athletes in their third encounter on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the national Iranian men’s inline hockey will play against India in its opener on June 20.

The Iranian sportsmen will face counterparts from Macao in their second match the next day, and will be in action against the Dutch squad on June 22.

The FIRS 2016 World Inline Hockey Junior, Senior, Ladies and Men Championships started in Asiago and Roana on June 11, and will wrap up on June 24.

The Referees Committee of the FIRS has appointed Atighehchi and Khorramabadi, who is the head coach of the national Iranian women’s inline hockey team, and Ramin Atighehchi to officiate at the tournament.
