Iranian referees Ramin Atighehchi and Maliheh Khorramabadi will officiate at the forthcoming Fédération Internationale Roller Sports (FIRS) 2016 World Inline Hockey Junior, Senior, Ladies and Men Championships in Italy.

The Referees Committee of the FIRS appointed Atighehchi and Khorramabadi, who is the head coach of the national Iranian women’s inline hockey team, earlier this week to referee at the prestigious sporting event.

The FIRS 2016 World Inline Hockey Junior, Senior, Ladies and Men Championships started in Asiago and Roana on June 11, and will wrap up on June 24.

The tournament has brought together junior and senior men’s and women’s national inline hockey teams from about 30 countries, including Finland, India, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Italy, Latvia, Macao and the Netherlands.

National Iranian women’s inline hockey team will face Italy in its opening match on June 12, will play against Finland the next day, and will take on Latvia in its third fixture on June 14. The men’s outfit will play against India in its opener on June 20. The Iranian sportsmen will face counterparts from Macao in their second match the next day, and will be in action against the Dutch squad on June 22.

Khorramabadi will reportedly embark on officiating at the championships once the national Iranian women’s inline hockey team has ended its campaign at the tournament.
