US, Israel, Turkey, Saudi Arabia not the friends of Syrian nation: Pundit

Press TV has interviewed Anthony Hall, professor of globalization at Lethbridge University in Toronto, about recent developments on the conflict in Syria.

A rough transcription of the interview appears below.

Press TV: How sincere are the claims against the Syrian government when we recently heard that the Americans have been seeing airdropping weapons and ammunitions?

Hall: Of course this is not at all sincere. This is pure propaganda and what we have are the very powers creating kind of a mirage of Islamic terrorism but actually these are mercenary armies and of course Saudi Arabia is itself a kind of a proxy army funding Islamic State, al-Nusra, al-Qaeda, so the very claim that somehow this humanitarian aid is needed, well if you want to be humanitarian, stop funding the proxy armies, stop funding the Islamic State, stop arming them, stop Turkey buying the oil, and do not do this absurdity of saying we are trying to do humanitarian aid when you are creating the very humanitarian crisis that you seek to be rectifying.

Of course the Syrian government is going to assert some jurisdiction and sovereignty over the channeling of whatever resources might be authentically available but of course the history of this and the background of this is that United States, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, they use channels into Syria to take in weapons, to take in chemicals for chemical warfare.

The United States, Israel, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, this is not the friends of the Syrian people, these are people assaulting the human rights and dignity of the Syrian people. The Assad regime is the legitimate government of Syria and there has to be some respect in how this humanitarian aid is channeled to those who no doubt do authentically need it given the situation they have been out in by those funding and backing and arming these proxy armies that are making life intolerable and creating this migrant crisis, which is disrupting Europe in many profound ways.

This is the height of hypocrisy, this propaganda stance that somehow the people creating this terrorist objective to overthrow the Assad government are somehow friends and advocates of humanitarian aid for the Syrian people. No, this is an assault on the Syrian people.   

Press TV: What is it going to take for the American government to come to their senses and start calling a spade a spade and stop and halt their operations clandestine covert and overt of supporting and funding and arming the terrorists on the ground in Syria?

Hall: This of course has been going on especially since 9/11 and before 9/11 but of course the whole false flag event to blame it on Islamic Jihadists and such, it is well-documented, we now see it, it is exposed that this was not as it was presented. This in itself is a psychological operation. There are thousands of voices trying to illuminate this truce but of course we are shut out of the mainstream media, the lying propaganda media that the majority of people get their news and information from it in United States and France and Great Britain.

The best we can do is keep raising our voices, look at the reality, the documented evidence that this terrorist threat is primarily funded, organized, backed, armed by Saudi Arabia, by Israel, by Turkey, by Qatar, by the United States. This is the old imperial powers with a new strategy of perpetuating this old very toxic form of imperialism that humanity has suffered as a result of this tremendously. It has got to stop.
