Figures published by the European Union's statistical agency Eurostat show more than 16 million people are unemployed in the eurozone.

Figures published by the European Union's statistical agency Eurostat show more than 16 million people are unemployed in the eurozone. The report also indicates that a quarter of all those living in EU cities are either in poverty or at risk of falling into poverty.

Our correspondent Jerome Hughes has a report from a meeting of the EU education ministers in which the issue was put to debate.
