Importance of interfaith dialogue

Is interfaith dialogue necessary in today’s day and age where information is readily available?

One could argue that dialogue is a prerequisite of the development of any faith as acquiring followers necessitates providing an attractive set of ideas that challenge the status quo.

But in today’s day and age where information is readily available, is interfaith dialogue necessary?  Who benefits from it?  Can world peace be impacted by the outcome?

At the inception of any religion it was necessary for proponents and adherents of the new religion to engage in dialogue with people.

Once established people of any faith do not feel that they have to justify their narratives but with that reality there is also the development of arrogance that needs to be eradicated so that the essence of why the faith is important and why its position is correct in the realities of today is kept alive.

It is therefore truly paramount today for opportunities to be created for religious leaders to exchange ideas and develop peace initiatives using their respective religious teachings to influence their faithful.

These types of gatherings will help to protect “society and territories from violence, extremism and terrorism, and to eliminate chances of clashes and warfare.”
