Tunnel discovered under ancient city of Teotihuacan, Mexico
For the past few days, Mexican archaeologists have been exploring Teotihuacan for clues into the mysterious ancient city. Their efforts have finally paid off.
The team discovered a tunnel with huge monolithic green stones under a the ‘Temple of the Moon’, the largest structure in the ancient city. It is not known what the monoliths were for. But researchers believe the tunnel itself may have been a way to reach underground water sources.
The team is continuing further research in the area. Although there are different theories, no one knows with certainty who built the mysterious city of Teotihuacan or how it was ruled.
