Esteghlal Khuzestan claim championship of Iran's Persian Gulf League

Esteghlal Khuzestan stands atop Persian Gulf League podium with 57 points and due to better goal difference than Persepolis.

Rahim Zahivi netted a dream brace within two minutes to gift his side the full three points against mighty Zob Ahan as Esteghlal Khuzestan were crowned champions of Iran's Persian Gulf League at home with 57 points and due to better goal difference than closest contenders Persepolis.

in the second half of the Persian Gulf League took the upper hand over league leaders Esteghlal Khuzestan in the majority of the game.

The Isfahan-based side had couple of chances to put themselves ahead, but failed to break the deadlock mainly due to poor finishing and fantastic display by the home side's Brazilian keeper Fernando Jesus. 

The home side took the lead almost against run of the match thanks to a brilliant header by Rahim Zahivi that left Zob Ahan's keeper motionless. 

Rahim Zahivi couldn't wait for more than a minute to register his second goal of the night with a left-foot drive that guaranteed Esteghlal Khuzestan's title in the 15th edition of Persian Gulf League.
