Iranian mountain biker Farzad Khodayari

Iranian mountain biker Farzad Khodayari has earned a bronze medal in the 22nd edition of the Asian Mountain Bike (MTB) Championships in Thailand.

Khodayari tried for years to make an achievement in the 22nd edition of Asian Mountain Bike Continental Championships in Thailand, and end the country’s medal drought.

On Sunday, the final day of the tournament, in the town of Chai Nat, located 188 kilometers (116 miles) north of the Thai capital, Bangkok, Khodayari competed in the cross country time trial category and won a bronze medal to hit a crescendo of a tumultuous senior career.

A representative from the host nation and a Taiwanese biker snatched the gold and silver medals of the discipline respectively.

The 22nd edition of Asian Mountain Bike Continental Championships kicked off in Chai Nat, Thailand, on May 4 and will come to an end on May 8.
