Six members of the Kurdish internal security forces, known as Asayesh, were killed in a bombing Saturday in northeastern Syria.

The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported the bomb attack, which was carried out in the town of Qamishli, located right on the border with Turkey.

The attacker targeted an Asayesh checkpoint. Five Kurds were also injured.

There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing.

Kurdish fighters, known as the YPG, have been battling the Takfiri Daesh terrorists in northeastern Syria, mainly Hasakah Province.

Qamishli, which is jointly controlled by Kurdish forces and Syrian government forces, has witnessed a number of terrorist attacks carried out by Daesh.

On April 28, the so-called observatory also reported that nearly 50 people were killed in rocket attacks carried out by foreign-backed militants on Aleppo City.

According to UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura, over 400,000 people have been killed in the conflict that has plagued Syria since March 2011.
