Here is a round-up of global news developments:

  • The Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution has slammed the US for its troublemaking and duplicity in the implementation of the nuclear deal. Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says the United States is promoting Iranophobia to scare businesses away from the country.

  • Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani says a US court ruling under which part of Tehran’s frozen assets will be disbursed as compensation is a daylight robbery by Washington. Rouhani believes the US move runs counter to international law. He stressed Iran will definitely take a firm action.

  • Israeli soldiers have shot and killed two Palestinians over an alleged stabbing assault in the occupied West Bank. Israeli officials say the two were walking towards Israeli soldiers and one of them was brandishing a knife. 211 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank over the past six months.

  • Bahrain has sentenced five people to life imprisonment over alleged involvement in smuggling explosives. Bahraini opposition media say the convicts are reportedly related to a protester killed during an anti-regime rally. Scores of people have been killed and hundreds injured or arrested since the 2011 uprising.

  • The Russian foreign minister has warned about the dangers of turning Syria’s crisis into a Shia-Sunni conflict. Sergey Lavrov has also warned against the rising threat of terrorist groups such as Daesh to the world. Lavrov said the terrorists have deployed foreign experts to launch chemical attacks.

  • The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has warned Britain against leaving the European Union. The OECD says workers will lose a month’s worth of salary by 2020 in case of Brexit. The body, which represents many leading economies, accuses supporters of Brexit of wishful thinking.

  • German airport ground employees have joined a strike by the country’s biggest trade union in a bid to push for higher wages. Germany’s largest carrier, Lufthansa, says it’s cancelling almost 900 flights at airports, including Frankfurt and Munich. That’s equivalent to around 60 percent of its usual daily traffic.

  • Thousands of workers have rallied in the Greek capital Athens to protest the government’s planned social security reforms. The protesters chanted anti-government slogans outside the parliament. Activists say the planned measures are aimed at reducing the contribution of the state in social security.
