Fragile Syria ceasefire unraveling

Fragile Syria ceasefire unraveling

Russia is pushing for direct talks between the Syrian government and so-called opposition to not have the UN mediator as the go-between, but the ceasefire is quickly unraveling. Reports indicate only 3 delegates form the opposition showed up at the talks. Meanwhile, the US is ramping up military presence in Iraq and Syria ahead of major attacks aimed at destroying ISIL's so-called caliphate.

Yemen peace talks delayed

A delay in the Yemeni peace talks that were due in Kuwait was announced due to Saudi Arabia's relentless bombardment. In the meantime, Saudi Arabia has increased its support to al-Qaeda. The Ansarullah fighters have dealt a heavy blow to al-Qaeda, but the Saudis have continued their support.

Brazil's impeachment process

The impeachment process of President Rousseff has been decided by the Congress. Roussef still says this is a coup being orchestrated by the opposition. Meanwhile, there is suspicion why BRICS countries like Brazil are being targeted. Speculations are pointing the finger at Washington.
