Messi breaks scoring drought, reaches 500th career goal

In the latest from La Liga, as Lionel Messi has broken his scoring drought to reach his 500th career goal, but Barcelona’s terrible form continued as they lost 2-1 to Valencia at Camp Nou.

After being knocked out of the Champions League, it was Valencia’s turn to stun the Catalans as they took the lead in the 26th minute on an own goal by Ivan Rakitich.

The visitors doubled the lead just before the break through Santa Mina’s expert side-footed finish after a great team play.

Luis Enrique’s side piled the pressure and managed to pull a goal back as Messi coolly slotted the ball home.
2-1 the final score and the battle for the La Liga title heats up with Barca and Atletico tied at 76 points in 1st and 2nd respectively.
