Nouman Ali Khan’s speech in Chicago

In December 2015 more than 15,000 Muslims attended at 14th Annual Convention of the Muslim American Society and the Islamic Circle of North America in McCormick Place in Chicago.

This was one of the largest and most diverse Islamic conventions in North America. More than 50 prominent speakers, including Professor Tariq Ramadan, Nouman Ali Khan and Zaid Shakir, addressed the convention. The aim of the event was to reinforce the message that although Muslims in the United States might be under certain pressures, they’re still maintaining their unity and are keen to understand and learn more about their faith and socio-political responsibilities.

In this episode Nouman Ali Khan talks on Quran Redefining Life and describes various pursuits in life. He categorizes  the pursuit in happiness, socially acceptable, popularity, prestige, seeking money, excellence and impact. He describes each pursuit with tangible examples and conclude the pursuit of impact as the most important one. He calls impact as the highest level of pursuit that Islam encourages it.
