Iranian Bazaars versus shopping malls

Traditional bazaars in Iran have been around for thousands of years. Bazaar is not just a place for shopping but many important social and political events in Iran have their roots in traditional bazaars.

Bazaar has its own rich and complex culture. In contrast, modern shopping malls in Iran are relatively a new phenomenon. They are not as culturally rich as bazaars but are more accessible and have items and displays that are somehow more attractive in modern-day life.

The city of Babol has many places to see and some of the most important parts of the city are its religious sites, from mosques to tekeeyas. The city has many beautiful and historically rich religious places.

In this feature, Farid Davarzani takes us to Tehran’s international school to see how students are adjusted in a new environment when moving from one country to another.
