Iraqis revolt against Daesh terrorists in Mosul

Iraqi people have staged a popular uprising against Daesh Takfiri terrorists in the northern city of Mosul.

Iraqi media quoted a military statement as saying that clashes erupted in the Nineveh province’s capital between the so-called police of Daesh and residents after the terrorists banned the people from leaving the city.

The terrorists also seized an unspecified number of locals, prompting the people to strike back at the Takfiris in three areas in western Mosul.

The statement added that the clashes are still ongoing and that the Daesh terrorist group imposed a curfew in western Mosul in an attempt to repress the uprising.

Daesh terrorists have gained notoriety for their barbarity, heinous atrocities and sacrilegious acts. The militants have been accused of committing gross human rights violations and war crimes in areas they control in Syria and Iraq.

Iraq’s Defense Minister Khaled al-Obaidi said on February 21 that the country has undertaken a decisive battle to retake the northern city of Mosul, which fell to the Takfiri terrorist group in 2014, by the year-end.

It is not the first time the Iraqi people protest against Daesh Takfiri militants as the minister said in his statements that Sunni tribesmen have revolted in several areas of Anbar province, namely Hit, which lies 70 kilometers (43 miles) west of Ramadi, killing tens of terrorists.
