Australian old railway turntable back in service

Australia is having a heritage rail center back on track, after a derailed train crashed into the site.

The 80-year-old railway turntable at Goulburn in New South Wales is now back in service. A railway turntable or wheelhouse is usually used for locomotives so that they can be moved back in the direction from which they came.

The 27-meter turntable was installed in 1935, and was operating until 1986, when the site became a museum. The site has also some old carriages but train-loving volunteers have helped restore them. Other old carriages are on display for the excited visitors, where children can explore old trains and engines.
