Brazilian professional footballer Carlos Santos de Jesus has parted company with Iranian football club Naft Tehran FC, which currently competes in the Persian Gulf Pro League, also known as Iran Pro League (IPL).

The 30-year-old had a meeting with officials from the Tehran-based team on Monday evening, where he decided to rescind his link with the club.

The Brazilian defender made his debut in the Persian Gulf Pro League in 2013 after Zob Ahan Football Club signed him.

He established himself in the Isfahan-based club’s lineup, and appeared in 15 league matches in his first year with Zob Ahan.

Santos renewed his contract with Zob Ahan Football Club on June 1, 2014, and signed a two-year contract.

He left the club just one year after and joined Naft Tehran on a one-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
