Former Australian professional tennis player Nick Lindahl has pleaded guilty to a charge related to match-fixing in the wake of allegations of widespread corruption in world Tennis.
The 27-year-old attended a court hearing in Sydney on Monday. Lindahl admitted one charge of using conduct information to bet on an event, but he pleaded not guilty to a second charge that he concealed evidence of match-fixing.
He was arrested last year for allegedly throwing a match at an entry-level tournament back in 2013.
Lindahl's court appearance comes as world Tennis continues to be mired in corruption allegations.
Recent reports by the BBC and online BuzzFeed News claimed that there is substantial evidence of corruption in tennis, but authorities have failed to act. Tennis officials however, have rejected the reports.
