The national Iranian men’s handball team has registered another glorious victory at the 17th edition of the Asian Men’s Handball Championship in Bahrain, trouncing the Chinese squad.

On Tuesday evening, the Iranian side sealed an emphatic win against the Asian team by two-fold points in a highly spirited match played at the Khalifa Sports City Stadium, also known as Isa Town Stadium, in Isa Town.

The Persians got off to a sound start and could establish the lead and surge ahead. Iranians were far too strong for the Chinese, and snatched a comfortable 17-10 victory at the end of the first period.

The Iranian sportsmen did not relinquish after the break, and succeeded in stealing the show and asserting themselves as the better team of the game. The Persians finally got past the Chinese 36-18.

The win was the Iranian outfit’s second in a row at the 17th edition of the Asian Men’s Handball Championship.

Iran earned a hard-fought victory over Lebanon on Sunday, getting past the West Asian squad 31-26.

Japan, Oman, South Korea and Syria are in Group A of the Asian Men’s Handball Championship.

The top two teams in each group will qualify for the knock-out stage, where winners will face off for the gold medal and losers settle for the third-place fixture – both scheduled for January 28.
