The Palestinian town of Al Eziriyeh was part of the larger al-Quds (Jerusalem) area until Israel constructed the apartheid barrier between it and the rest of al-Quds.

Al Eziriyeh had always been a part of al-Quds; however, when the Israeli military forces cut it off from al-Quds, it became an isolated enclave.

The apartheid wall cut through the Palestinian community dividing families and businesses, further still are Israel’s so-called security measures, which disrupt the lives of the Palestinians living there.

It is not only Eziriyeh that was affected, but also the al-Quds University, which had faced many problems such as the confiscation of lands as well as attacks against the university campus in addition to hampering the university students on their to the campus.

The Israeli military forces also attacked the local Bedouin community to implement the E1 settlement plan.
