Press TV has conducted an interview with Sara Flounders, the co-director of the International Action Center, and journalist and political commentator Maxine Dovere to discuss US plans to impose sanctions on Iran over its missile program.

Flounders says the US’s new move to impose sanctions on Iran shows the White House is “in violation of the very agreement that they signed and agreed to in July [2015] after years of negotiations.”

US authorities want to push forward their hostile strategy against Iran, she says, adding that pursuing the hostile policies toward the Islamic Republic proves Washington is not “reliable.”

“The US government’s corporate power has never abided by any of the agreements or treaties it has made: as soon as it’s made, there is an effort to break it and put a new sanction,” she says. “This is a global empire and like every empire in history it’s built on theft, on conquest and on lies.”

“Iran will move forward, has to move forward and that will continue,” Flounders says, concluding, “US efforts of new sanctions will again be frustrated.”

Dovere, for her part, believes the “missiles capable of carrying a nuclear weapon” should “not be allowed,” claiming that Iran’s missile program “generates [the] sanctions.”
