Junior Iranian squash players ranked among best Asian athletes
Three junior Iranian male squash players have been ranked among the greatest athletes in Asia thanks to their praiseworthy performances at the recent REDtone 9th Kuala Lumpur International Junior Open Squash Championships in Malaysia.
According to the latest rankings released by the Asian Squash Federation, Mohammad Danial Gharouni claimed the second slot in the boy’s under-13 category with 1,059.4 points.
Muhd Amir Amirul Azhar from Malaysia collected 1,215 points, ranking first in Asia. Hong Kong’s and Malaysia’s Lap Man Au and Joachim Chuah Han Wen occupied the third and fourth spots respectively with 834.4 and 742.5 points.
Malaysia’s Sai Hung Ong is the top-ranked Asian athlete in the boy’s under-17 division with 1239.4 points. Yat Long Law from Hong Kong amassed 1092.2 points to claim the second position, while third-place Iranian Alireza Shameli bagged 1,081.9 points. Pakistan’s Kashif Asif stood fourth with 900 points.
In the boy’s under-19 section, Pakistani Israr Ahmed received 1,080 points to claim the berth at the top in Asia.
Second-place Iranian Sajad Zareian earned 1,030.15 points. Ryunosuke Tsukue from Japan stood third with 900 points and was followed by Hong Kong’s Wui Ki Chan with 741 points.
Young Iranian male and female athletes displayed commendable performances at the REDtone 9th Kuala Lumpur International Junior Open Squash Championships in Malaysia, and snatched four silver medals in different divisions.
The REDtone 9th Kuala Lumpur International Junior Open Squash Championships started in Malaysia on December 1, and wrapped up on December 6.
The tournament brought some 500 squash players together, making it the biggest junior sporting event in Asia.
