Press TV has conducted an interview with Chris Bambery, a political analyst in London, and Fredrick Peterson, a senior congressional defense adviser from Virginia, to discuss the measures adopted by the European Union to prevent tragic events like the Paris attacks.

Bambery said French President Francois Hollande declared a war against Daesh in the Middle East, but France and, in general, the European Union have already ignited the war on the region, which has caused the current refugee crisis.

Pointing to the trend of radicalization of the perpetrators of the Paris attacks, he said, “These were people actually not involved in Islam in terms of religious practice, they were fringe elements, they became radicalized through a wave of crime.”

There is a population of Arab migrants in Belgium and France, he added, and the migrants are suffering from racism, discrimination and poverty, and that is why the community does not feel to be part of the country.

The analyst also stated that Europe has contributed to the crisis that led to an influx of refugees at its borders, because “That situation was created by the French and British bombing campaign,” adding, “More bombing” and “more intervention” in Iraq and Syria will increase the migrant crisis in Europe.

Britain and France are following the United States’ foreign policy in the Middle East and North Africa, which triggered chaos throughout the region, the analyst said, arguing that the situation is a result of the US invasion of Iraq back in 2003.

Peterson, for his part, said the European Union is facing unprecedented indoor challenges concerning economy and demography and outdoor challenges like the influx of refugees.
