Israeli forces have killed one Palestinian in the occupied West Bank and another in the besieged Gaza Strip.

On Friday, Israeli troops killed an elderly Palestinian woman, whom they accused of running over a number of Israelis, by firing many rounds at her in the town of al-Khalil (Hebron) in the occupied West Bank.

Two other Palestinians who were present at the site of the incident near a gas station were also injured.

Palestinian media also reported that two Israeli soldiers were injured by a Palestinian sniper in the city.

It was also reported that another Israeli was shot and severely injured near Beit Einun, north of al-Khalil on Friday evening.

Elsewhere in the southern part of the blockaded Gaza Strip, another Palestinian was killed by Israeli forces in the city of Khan Yunis, Gaza’s Health Ministry said. The Israeli forces shot the Palestinian in the head during a protest in the city on Friday.

In a separate incident in the city of Ramallah, an Israeli settler was seriously wounded in an alleged stabbing attack in the Shaar Binyamin industrial zone, an illegal settlement north of the city. The attacker reportedly escaped from the scene.

On Thursday, Israeli forces also opened fire and killed a young Palestinian near Gush Etzion settlement southwest of the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem. The regime’s military said that the man was gunned down following an alleged stabbing attempt against Israeli soldiers, Palestine’s Ma’an news agency reported.

The latest wave of tensions has been triggered by the Israeli regime’s imposition in August of restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshipers into the al-Aqsa Mosque.

Palestinians are also angry at increasing violence by illegal Israeli settlers, who frequently storm al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest site in Islam after Masjid al-Haram in Mecca and Masjid al-Nabawi in Medina. They say the Tel Aviv regime seeks to change the status quo of the compound.
