Mexico’s Colima volcano has erupted violently several times in a single day, spewing tons of electrified ashes that burst high in the sky.
Located in southern Mexico, the Colima volcano erupted five times on Sunday morning, sending ashes as high as 1,500 meters up into the sky with lightning sparkling amongst the plumes in a phenomenon known as dirty thunderstorm or volcanic lightning.
Its numerous eruptions since July 9 have blanketed nearby villages with thick coats of ash, leading to evacuations.
Colima has been one of the most active volcanoes in Mexico and North America in 2015 and since 1576 it has erupted over 40 times, the largest of which occurred on July 20-24, 1913.
