Press TV has interviewed Hafsa Kara-Mustapha, a journalist and Middle East expert from London, and Jihad Mouracadeh, a political commentator from Beirut, to discuss the Palestinian "Day of Rage" against Israeli oppression.

Kara-Mustapha states the Palestinian youth have taken the responsibility of protesting against the Israeli atrocities into their own hands due to a lack of leadership from political parties; however, she adds, the leadership has also showen their anger about the crimes committed by Israeli military forces and extremist settlers.

The journalist thinks whatever other people name the “Day of Rage” or the uprising, the Palestinians are showing their anger and reaction to the ongoing oppression and attacks.

The Israeli regime attempts to use “fabricated excuses” in order to kill the Palestinian men on a daily base, she notes, adding that only four Israelis have been stabbed to death during the upsurge of tensions in the occupied lands, but 39 Palestinians have been gunned down by the Israeli troops.

She also maintains that Arab states have neglected the Palestinian cause because they are encountering their own problems.

Mouracadeh, for his part, believes the Palestinian youth are lacking “real leadership” during their protests against the Israeli occupiers because there is a split between the Palestinian political factions.

The trend of the ongoing incidents between Palestinians and Israelis could pave the way for the start of a new intifada in the occupied lands of Palestine, he says, adding if the Tel Aviv regime refuses to calm down the tension, the violence can turn into another intifada.

He argues, “The Arab governments are too busy to be able to take a decision on the Palestinians and the Palestinians are pretty much left on their own.”
