Saudi warplanes have bombed the residence of the speaker of the Yemeni parliament, Yahya al-Raei, killing at least one of his sons and injuring some other members of the family.

The casualties were caused after Saudi fighter jets dropped bombs at al-Raei’s residential in Zimar Province on Friday.

According to Yemen’s al-Masirah TV network, the deadly aerial attack destroyed the entire compound and severely damaged nearby buildings.

Al-Raei has reportedly not adopted any stance vis-à-vis the Saudi military campaign against his country.

The Saudi regime and the militants loyal to it have staged several attacks against the residences and offices of several Yemeni leaders opposed to Riyadh’s military aggression against Yemen.

Yemen has been under Saudi military strikes on a daily basis since March 26. The strikes are supposedly meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh.

Latest figures show the Saudi attacks have killed close to 7,000 Yemenis, including 1,986 children and 1,508 women, in over 200 days.

The Yemeni Army backed by Popular Committees have been retaliating against the Saudi aggression by striking targets on Saudi soil.
