New figures show that there were a record number of complaints against police in England and Wales.
According to the figures from the Independence Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) a total of 37,105 complaint cases were recorded in 2014-15. The figures, a record high for the second year running, show a 6% rise made in 2013-14.
Most complaints are made for "neglect or failure in duty".
Meanwhile, the IPCC said a survey made last year revealed public satisfaction following contact with the police was falling, and there was a greater willingness to complain.
More people were dissatisfied with the way their complaint was handled. The total number of appeals made by dissatisfied complainants increased by 7%. Meanwhile, the time taken to resolve complaints increased to 147 days - 12 days longer than the year before
"The figures showed a complaints system that was "both over-complex and inconsistent, and is clearly failing to satisfy a significant number of complainants," said Chairwoman of the IPCC, Anne Owers.
The Metropolitan Police, the UK's largest force had the highest number of complaints with 6,828.
