High-ranking Hungarian delegation expected in Iran

Head of the Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) of Iran, Valiollah Afkhamirad (1st R) meets with Hungarian Ambassador to Iran Janos Kovacs (2nd L) in the capital, Tehran, September 27, 2015.

A high-ranking Hungarian delegation representing the country’s private economic and trade firms is expected to visit Iran in early October.

According to Iranian media, the delegation will be comprised of a number of Hungarian ministers and 113 representatives of the country’s private sector.

During their stay in Tehran, Hungarian delegates are scheduled to meet and confer with high-ranking Iranian economic officials and private sector activists.

Meanwhile, head of the Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) of Iran, Valiollah Afkhamirad, met with Hungarian Ambassador to Iran Janos Kovacs, telling the Eastern European country’s envoy that TPO is ready to provide necessary grounds for more exchanges between Iranian and Hungarian economic activists during Hungarian delegation’s stay in Tehran.

The Iranian official noted that Iran has managed despite international sanctions to break many new grounds by relying on domestic capabilities.

“Today, the way is paved more than any time before for the expansion of trade and economic relations with other countries and for increasing export of Iranian goods and services to neighboring states,” Afkhamirad noted.

The Hungarian ambassador, for his part, expressed hope that such meetings would help bolster bilateral interactions between the two countries’ economic activists.

Kovacs stated that Tehran has greatly progressed compared to past years despite suffering from international sanctions.

He also expressed hope that the two countries would sign a number of agreements for cooperation in various economic fields during the Hungarian delegation’s visit to the Islamic Republic.
