Despite pretending to be concerned about the regional conflicts in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia, Israel and the United States are still conspiring to implement a regime change in Syria, an American analyst says.
Allen Roland, an online columnist based in California, made the remarks in an interview with Press TV on Saturday when asked to comment on a statement by President Barack Obama, who said that the US and Saudi Arabia are trying to find a solution to the conflict in Syria.
“We share concerns about the crisis in Syria and will have the opportunity to discuss how we can run a political transition process within Syria and how we can finally end the horrific situation there,” Obama said on Friday in a meeting Saudi King Salman.
Roland meanwhile said these words are not to be “trusted” because both countries still want Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s government to fall.
“This is once again an example of Obama straddle or Double Hawk; he has been financing Saudi Arabia, he has shipped cluster bombs to Saudi Arabia,” he told Press TV on Saturday.
“This is not good news and the name of the game still in Syria is regime change and [it] is still intact,” he added.
The analyst slammed the US, Israel and Saudi Arabia for being in “collusion” against other countries.
“Saudi Arabia is in bed with the United States, which is also in bed with Israel,” he noted.
During his meeting with the Saudi king, Obama also expressed his concern about Yemen, and said:” “We share a concern about Yemen and the need to restore a functioning government that is inclusive and can relieve the humanitarian situation there,” he added.
"Our region must achieve stability, which is essential for the prosperity of its people, and in our country, thank God we are prosperous, but we want prosperity for the entire region. We are willing to cooperate with you in order to achieve that,” the US president maintained.
