Members of Daesh Takfiri militant group have abducted 20 young men in the troubled northern Iraqi province of Salahuddin as they continue committing war crimes on a large scale in the areas under their control.

A security source, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Arabic-language al-Forat news agency on Friday that Daesh extremists abducted the youths from al-Eithah village on the ground that they had cooperated with Iraqi intelligence forces, and took them to an unknown location.

Daesh militants also executed eight fellow terrorists in al-Hadar village, situated 120 kilometers (74 miles) south of Mosul, after accusing them of cowardice and notifying Iraqi security personnel of the extremists’ positions.

Iraq’s anti-Daesh operations

Meanwhile, seven Daesh terrorists were killed and 12 others injured after Iraqi fighter jets carried out a strike against Daesh vehicles as they were travelling from the northwestern Iraqi city of Tal Afar, located 420 kilometers (260 miles) northwest of the capital, Baghdad, to the town of Sinjar.

The airborne assault sent three cars belonging to Daesh members up in flames, while the rest fled from the area.

Ibrahim al-Fahdawi, a top official from the Khaldiyah area, also confirmed that Iraqi military aircraft have launched an air raid against an area east of Anbar’s provincial capital city of Ramadi, which is located 110 kilometers west of Baghdad, killing nearly 60 Daesh terrorists in the process.

Gruesome violence has plagued the northern and western parts of Iraq ever since the Daesh Takfiris launched an offensive in June 2014, and took control of portions of Iraqi territory.

The militants have been committing vicious crimes against all ethnic and religious communities in Iraq, including Shias, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians and others.

Units of army soldiers and volunteer fighters are seeking to win back militant-held regions in joint operations.
