New 3D printer can print up to 10 materials at once

Most 3D printers can only print out one material layer-by-layer at a time. But a new device is now able to print up to ten different materials all at once.

Yes, you heard it right! A group of engineers in the US have come up with this latest 3D printer called the “Multi-Fab”. The device can quickly print out multi-material, multi-component objects in a single session. The printer uses a 3D scanning technique that allows it to adjust and guide itself as it prints. So far, the team has used the technology to print everything from smartphone cases to 3D lenses directly onto LEDs. With such massive advances, we can expect to see a revolution in 3D printing capabilities real soon.
