When Freddie Gray was killed by police in the city of Baltimore, riots broke out, shocking America. We travel to the city to find out why it happened and whether anything has changed.

One of the main reasons so many black men are being killed by police officers is institutional racism. Black people, generally amongst the poorest in America, are by many, including police officers, associated with crime: just one reason three times more black men are killed by police than white men.

On this edition of Infocus, we ask how hard life is for black men in America. We look at poverty, which is getting worse and inspiring revolt from people of all colors. And we find out how racism burns through every aspect of American society.
