Argentine filmfest awards Iran’s ‘Fish and I’

Iranian filmmaker Babak Habibifar

Argentina’s 2015 Ojo al Piojo International Short Film Festival has awarded ‘The Fish and I,’ written and directed by Iranian filmmaker Babak Habibifar.

The film received the event’s Special Mention for its original story marked by the use of black and white images. The production was also praised for highlighting the value of the friendship between a man and his pet.

‘The Fish and I’ competed with over 70 films from Germany, Argentina, Spain, Russia, Chile, Belgium, Colombia, Mexico, Denmark, Romania, France, Norway, US, Brazil and Japan.

Habibifar’s production tells the story of a blind man trying to save his goldfish.

The film has been screened at a number of international events and won several awards at international film festivals, including the Uhvati Film Festival in Serbia and the Soria International Film Festival in Spain.

‘After 17 Hours’ and ‘After 15 Years’ are among Habibifar’s other well-known short screen productions.

The fifth edition of Ojo al Piojo International Short Film Festival was held from July 15 to 18, offering audiovisual productions made for children and young adults.
