Ongoing suppression of activists, opposition in Bahrain

With political leaders and activists behind bars, tensions remain at all time high in Bahrain and show no signs of abating.

Reports of ill treatment and police brutality continue to emerge from Jau, the country's main prison, as authorities crack down on detainees.

The recent sentencing of opposition leader Sheikh Ali Salman has created a further political deadlock sparking mass protests across the country.

As demonstrations sweep across the country, and Western leaders continue their silence, in this episode of Infocus we investigate how authorities are continuing to suppress dissenting voices in the country.
