Romania is set to hold an exhibition of environmental artworks created by Iranian artists in the city of Sfantu Gheorghe.

The Life Spaces will showcase works by 28 veteran and promising Iranian artists, including Ahmad Nadealian, Noushin Nafisi, Mojtaba Ramzi, Hamed Mashmouli, Tara Goudarzi and Kourosh Golnari.

Iranian director Reyhaneh Omid-Qaemi will also be there to make a documentary about the project.

“We were warmly welcomed in Romania and we are happy that our art and culture can be influential to such an extent,” said Iranian artist and organizer of the event Mahmoud Maktabi.

He said the Norwegian, Icelandic and Liechtensteinian embassies in Romania supported the art project and sponsored the exhibition in Romania.

The event was also supported by Tehran’s Museum of Contemporary Art and Romania’s National Sekler Museum.

Six Iranian artists will be shortlisted at the end of the exhibition to launch a joint project with seven Romanian artists. A series of joint workshops will also be held for environmental art lovers.

The Life Spaces will be opened on July 21 and will run until August 21, 2015.
