The fight against austerity in UK

Despite the Tory claims that their austerity program is a painful but necessary response to Britain’s deficit, it’s a message that is increasingly falling on deaf ears as more vulnerable Brits fall victim to the cuts.

Vocal opposition to the Conservative austerity agenda is growing and the groundswell of opposition has so far culminated the largest anti-government demo since the Iraq War with anti-cuts groups banding together to say ‘enough is enough.’

Further action has been scheduled with anti-cuts groups vowing to ‘make the UK ungovernable’ unless the Tories back-track from their flagship policy that has already contributed to the deaths of an estimated 80 individuals.

In this edition of Infocus, we delve deeper into the austerity agenda and shine a spotlight on those seeking an alternative in the fight for what they say is the very future of Britain.
