Thousands of migrants are dying each year now trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea.

One Italian official has said that the sea is becoming a graveyard for migrants. This often overlooked scandal is only getting worse.

Wars in Africa and the Middle East have massively increased the number of migrants trying to get to Europe. And with the lawlessness of Libya and much of Syria, largely brought on by Western support for war, the situation has become a human tragedy.

On this week’s Infocus we travel to the Mediterranean to unearth the tragedy. We show how Western support for wars are forcing tens of thousands of people into desperate measures.

We also find out whether European authorities are doing enough to save the lives of migrants. And we find out how the migrants are being treated when they arrive in Europe.
