Sen. Graham attacks Clinton’s foreign policy

US Republican presidential hopeful Senator Lindsey Graham has attacked Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton for her foreign policy decisions when she was secretary of state.

“You would have to suspend disbelief to believe that America is well-positioned against Iran, against Syria, against ISIL, against Russia, against China,” he told CBS on Sunday.

“We’re in a terrible position,” he said. “If Hillary Clinton thinks we’re well-positioned as a nation, she has disqualified herself to be commander-in-chief.”

Clinton became the country’s top diplomat after she was defeated to President Barack Obama in the 2008 presidential election.

The former first lady held the position during the first term of Obama and John Kerry became the secretary of state in the second term.

The Obama administration has been criticized for foreign policy decisions in the Middle East and elsewhere.

Senator Graham also noted that the foreign policy doctrine by the current administration has severely harmed the US military’s fight against terrorism.

“I’m dying to hear from my military leadership on how we degrade and destroy ISIL with the current strategy,” he said.

Clinton launched her first presidential campaign in New York City on Saturday.

A CNN/ORC poll released earlier this month showed Clinton’s favorable ratings have dropped significantly across several key indicators since she announced her presidential campaign in April.

The poll found that a growing number of Americans say she is not honest and trustworthy and does not care about people like them.
