US not interested in eliminating ISIL: Pundit

Press TV has interviewed Richard Becker, with the ANSWER Coalition from San Francisco, and Lee Kaplan, an investigative journalist from Berkeley, to discuss the true intention of the US-led coalition in the so-called anti-ISIL battle.

Becker slams as a mere show a recent conference of the so-called anti-ISIL coalition held in the French capital, Paris, amid the absence of Iran and Syria, which have a significant role in fighting the Takfiri terror group.

He adds the US and its allies are not serious in their calls for collective efforts aimed at countering the ISIL threats.

The United States created a situation that paved the way for the rise of the ISIL, he argues, adding that American authorities take no responsibility for the failure of the Washington-led alliance in its anti-ISIL mission.

The political expert also says the US government is not pursuing any strategy to defeat the ISIL as American officials are not interested to eradicate the ISIL terrorist group.

Meanwhile, Kaplan believes the Paris meeting was held to find a solution for the “crazy situation” in Iraq. He adds the leaders of the ISIL group are the former generals of the former Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein.
