Amnesty international has accused both sides of the conflict in Ukraine of committing war crimes.

The rights organization says both Ukrainian forces and pro-Russian militias have used torture against detainees. According to the report, almost all the interviewed detainees have complained of severe beatings, electric shock and being hung from the ceiling among other serious abuses. Amnesty's Europe and Central Asia Program director said prisoners on both sides have suffered mock executions. John Dalhuisen says they have also documented summary killings at the hands of pro-Russian militias. Both Ukrainian forces and pro-Russian forces have been condemned for indiscriminate bombings. The conflict in eastern Ukraine has claimed more than 62-hundred lives and left nearly two million homeless over the past 13 months.
