Uganda’s struggling education system

Uganda is currently struggling to retain pupils in school as the East African country registers a high dropout rate due to rampant poverty.

Most affected are rural schools where pupils are forced to study under tree shades due to a lack of classrooms.

Despite government efforts to improve the situation, rural schools continue to struggle as teachers try to improve the literacy rates across the country. Daniel Arapmoi reports.
