S Arabia’s ‘Operation Renewal of Atrocities’

Saudi aggression against Yemen

Saudi Arabia on April 21 announced the end of the first phase of its military operation against Yemen, but airstrikes have continued with Saudi bombers targeting different areas across the country in a new phase.

Riyadh declared the end of “Decisive Storm” operation against Yemen and announced the beginning of a new phase dubbed “Operation Renewal of Hope.”

This is while Yemeni officials say the operation dubbed “Operation of Renewal of Hope” was only intended to serve Riyadh’s own interests.

“After suffering defeat in achieving their objectives, the Saudis were looking for an excuse to continue their aggression,” Yemen’s army spokesman Colonel Sharaf Luqman said on April 28, stressing, “The Saudi attack on Yemen is not a war but an aggression.”

The attacks have so far killed around 1,000 Yemenis, including many women and children, and injured thousands of others.

Riyadh launched its military aggression against its southern neighbor on March 26 - without a United Nations mandate - in a bid to undermine Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement and to restore power to Hadi, a staunch ally of Saudis.
