Hillary Clinton was “perhaps the most corrupt” US secretary of state, says James Bovard, a Policy Advisor at The Future of Freedom Foundation.
Bovard made the remarks in an interview with Press TV on Thursday when asked about Hillary Clinton’s belief that the wealthiest 1 percent people in the United States must be “toppled” in order to strengthen the middle class and decrease the wealth gap between the rich and poor.
Clinton’s views were published by The New York Times on Tuesday. The Democrat presidential candidate believes that the unending accumulation of massive wealth at the top of the spectrum is damaging the country and hampering its economy.
Bovard said Clinton is trying to take advantage of the American voters and the political system in the US as she has always done in the past.
“I’m very amused to see Hillary Clinton talking about toppling the 1 percent and this story makes it clear that she is basing her presidential campaign on the unlimited stupidity of the American voters,” he opined.
“Hillary Clinton has milked this system, she has always milked it for her own profit,” he added.
“Hillary Clinton is perhaps the most corrupt secretary of state in the American history,” he said, adding “The Clinton Foundation was getting massive windfalls from foreign governments at the same time that Hillary was doing favors for those governments as she was the secretary of state.”
“Hillary is trying to make this 1 percent issue but the real issue is how the government policies have helped some people become far richer than others,” he noted.
“The Federal Reserve has driven interest rates down to zero” but “at the same the Federal Reserve has artificially driven up the stock market levels and that allowed the richest folks to get far more profits from that,” he said.
“But Hillary Clinton doesn’t propose to fix this, instead Hillary wants politicians to have even more power to dictate who gets what,” he added.
